I realized it has been ages since I last update this blog of mine. Do people still have time for blogs since we have platforms like facebook and twitter which is much faster? Anyway, it's been too long and I guess my 'stalker' has given up on 'stalking' me here (if there is any to start with) ;P

Last Friday (23/7/2010) I went with my cousin bro, his friend and couz sister to OverTime, Life Centre Kuala Lumpur last Friday to meet Hong Kong singer, Vincy Chan (泳儿) who was in town to promote her new album titled '預見...遇見'. I'm not really a super die hard fan but I do listen to her songs.

First of all, a singer with her caliber should not be given such venue to promote her album. The stage is way too small and she literally has no place to walk around.

The patrons are mostly consists of Friday-after-work-hang-out-with-friends type of customers with young waitress (age not more than 30) who dressed like a milkmaid just that the skirt has been chopped off to reveal a pair of sexy legs.

We ordered snacks of french fries and fried mushroom and 1 bucket of Heineken @ 8.15 pm. The beer was fast but the snacks took more than 1 hr to arrived. I'm guessing it's their tactics of hoping we'll order more drinks while waiting for our paid food :(

In between while waiting for the gig to start and the food to arrive, the following conversation took place ...

Bro: That waitress look cute.
Sis: No no no, the other one look cuter ... wait, the one behind us like WoW!
Me: Which one?
Sis: The one directly behind me, with 2 mountains!
Me: You mean the twin towers on her chest?
Sis: Ya ya ya and she looks like a doll.
Me: Looks quite cute.
Bro: Not my type. Do you think I can get the cute waitress cell number?
Sis: But she doesn't have any dimples as per your No. 1 top requirement in any girl.
Bro: Hehehe ... no harm trying rite?
Me: Of course, provided you sit here all night order barrels and barrels of beer like the uncles next table. I'm sure she'll sit with you and give you her probably fake cell number.

In the end, we left without any cute waitress number :(

OneFM DJ, Jack Yap was the MC for the nite. He did a fair job, perhaps the crowd did not provide enough response to make the gig livelier.

Not when you are facing some drunk men shouting on top of their lungs! These bunch of idiots was shouting for their friend whom they called 'Eason Chan' up to the stage for a little game. This Eason Chan wannabe don't look nor sound like him. Maybe they are referring to Eason's dad? Anyway, the game was to compliment Vincy and the best lines wins. 3 dudes + 1 gal. The Eason Chan wannabe mumbled something like 'sor jai' (idiot in cantonese). We were like huh? In the end, the prize went to the gal. Then the drunkards starts to shout something like 'unfair' mainly because their friend didn't win anything. Geez ... have some class lah dei!

Only a handful of fans showed up and when the camera was clicking away, they hide behind the neon banner! I can never understand why they don't want their face to be seen on camera. Maybe next time they should wear a mask so that nobody will recognize them! Duh!

Then there's this gal whom I think is not really a fan but still snapping away with her cell phone. Whenever the fans screams, she'll shut her eyes and her shoulders will go up hoping to close her ears with them because the hand is too busy with cell phone. If the sounds is damn annoying to her, then she should not stand at the fans section in the first place. Like duh duh!

A jigsaw puzzle with Vincy's face was presented to her by the fan club.

Autograph session. The pace was so fast that I didn't manage to snap any photos of my cousin bro and his friend. Another reason is because one fella was blocking me all the way! Whenever I want to snap a picture, his hand will shot up holding his camera, totally blocked my view ... urgggghhh!

Vincy is too thin in person but she has pretty features :)

The gig ended at 9.30 pm and by then we were still waiting for our french fries to arrived from France!

When I was young, my mom being a typical chinese mom will tell me things which I'm forbid to do because of certain beliefs she inherited from her mom. In another words - Old Wives' Tales that has been passed down from generation ... until it reaches me that is.

Don't hold your chopsticks too high to the end
Mom: "or else you will married far away from home."
Me: "So, if I hold it near the tip then will I marry the guy next door?" (not in a million years! that guy is a moron)

Don't leave your rice unfinished
Mom: "or else you'll have pimples all over your face."
Me: "Thanks Ma, because I turned into a 'pumpkin' after walloping the mountain of rice you gave me and still get pimples on my face =.="

Don't wash your hair on the 1st day of menstrual
Mom: "or else you will have dark circles under your eyes!"
Me: "But ma, my dark circles is there like for-evar whether I wash my hair or not!

Don't swallow your gum
Mom: "or else it'll stick to your intestines!"
Me: "Er sure Ma" (after swallowed dunno how many pieces down the throat)

Don't place the wet umbrella inside the house
Mom: "or else snakes will come in."
Me: "Huh? What does umbrella got to do with snakes?"

That's some of the tales I can still remember my mom 'warned' me about. But thank God, as she grows older she is getting wiser. It has been a long time since she lecture me on anything or perhaps she thinks it's simply a waste of time on me!

Recently a tv station organized a beauty pageant where one of the section is that the contestants are required to show their talents during the finals. I watched the re-run and had the laugh of my life at their so called talents!

The first one performed a latin dance but she can't even remember her moves and this is the only time I watch a latin dance go slow-mo! At one point, she even hesitated on whether to lift the leg or not!

Came a second who performed kung fu moves with a sword. Her hand is not even straight when she pointed the sword forward and the only kung fu moves is just to swing the sword left, right, left, right. Pathetic.

Uh ... a sexy female bartender who tried to juggle the cocktail container and a bottle from left to right with little success. In the end she poured out the drink, set fire into the glass and pour down the in a row of martini glasses. The end.

One contestant tried to portray a kabuki dance (japanese stage play) ala Memoirs of a Geisha's style but her costume is a combination of a red lion head wig, front half portion gone kimono with white flats! She doesn't even know how to flip the fan correctly! Oh gawd -.-

As if this is not talented enough, another wanted to play a yo-yo like a pro chinese acrobat but when she tried to swing the yo-yo high up, it fells down, nearly hit her head and roll away! The audience were laughing at her.

Have you seen a belly dancer whose tummy is as flat as a washing board? This one only knows how to move her breast up and down, up and down and her belly literally didn't move at all because she doesn't have one! Geez ...

Most of us have seen the lovers (梁祝), a story about 2 lovers so deeply in love that they turned into butterflies when they died. This girl did a dance supposedly to reflect the story but her dancing is so bad that all I can recall is she end up hugging the fake tomb.

Another tried to play a trick of tearing up pieces of crumbled sin chew jit poh (newspaper) then make it into 1 piece again and claimed out loud "life is just an illusion" is so not talented. What the ... ?

Calligraphy is an art but what I've seen is the girl used a long brush to write the word 海洋 (ocean) in chinese and that piece look like a 2 year old handwriting to me.

The winner stole the idea from the HK variety show. The concept is a kung fu fighting dwarf. What you need is another partner and use his hand to performed the moves but you cannot see him. Only the main person's face can be seen and she will use her hand as leg instead. It's all about coordination between the 2 persons. Nothing special to me but since the rest are all crap, I guess this is it.

Ok I'm being a bit sarcastic here but come on ... as an organizer, they should never show this to the general public and make it a laughing stock! I believe beauty and brains do come hand-in-hand but guess not these bunch of jokers!

Just Chicken Rice

One of my favorite food is chicken rice. A good plate of chicken rice is enough to warm the stomach.

Finding a chicken rice stall in KL is as easy as throwing a stone to see which one it hits. It can be found at every corner where there is food. And we all know that Singapore is famous for it's Hainanese chicken rice and has been labeled as their 'national dish' even before our Tourism Minister decided to have a 'food fight' with the neighboring country to get the rights of which dish is origins from Malaysia.

I've been visiting Singapore lately and tried Boon Tong Kee's Hainanese chicken rice.

The appetizer.

The pyramid shaped rice which is fluffy and fragrant. I can eat this alone without the chicken!

The chicken meat is smooth and tender.

There are other dishes to try like their famous tofu which is coated with a thin layered of crispy batter (forgot to snap a shot) and variety type of vegetables to balance the meal.

Boon Tong Kee is located at Bukit Timah along Cheong Chin Nam Road. Have a meal there if you are heading for Singapore next time. I'll be back for a second visit :)

It's a concert for goodness sake

I went with my cousin bro and sister to watch Eason Chan's 陈奕迅 Moving On Stage 26 at the Sunway Lagoon Resort couple of weeks back. Malaysia is the final stop for his world tour which started in 2007 with Stage 1 in Hong Kong.

It's free standing for all price range except the VIP seat which is far far far behind the stage (usually these seats are the cheapest but I guess if you are in Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach then it's the total opposite). We are lucky to grab front rows (directly behind the 2nd most expensive tickets) and the view is near, very near. We stood for a good 3 hours screaming our lungs out, singing and dancing with weird moves! Thanks bro for inviting us and your generous treats :D

The concert started at 8.00 pm sharp with some guest performers before Eason finally appeared singing his first song K歌之王. He performed a total of 28 songs with a 40 mins encore session. I love the medley of songs kings of cantopop (i.e. Leslie Cheung, Alan Tam, Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok and Leon Lai). The dancers are great and there's one from Japan is a REAL hot chick! My cousin brother was drolling at her ;P

At the end of the concert, there was a display of fireworks to our delight. A truly worth-it concert which rocked the house down!

Besides a short review of the concert, what I wanted to share is the type of people who go for concert. The thing about concert is that we should at least clap if you can't sing along with the singer. How about moving along with the rhythms. I've been to quite a number of concerts and have a collection of concerts DVD. Unfortunately, most of the Malaysian audience are 'dead wood'. They watched the whole concert with no emotion. They don't clap, wave, laugh, sing or dance. They just stood there with a 'what-the-hell-am-I-doing-here' expression! Gawd!

Then there are those who bought VIP tickets but strolled in 1 hour after the concert stated and blocked others view by towing their kids and parents along. This is not some chinese wedding dinner where they don't serve before all the tables are full! Have some sense of punctuality will ya! And the same bunch will strolled out 1 hour before the concert ends. Personally, I think you don't respect the singer by walking out before the concert ends. Why don't you pathetic people just stay at home instead? =.=

The most uncivilized behavior of the Malaysian audience is to throw their glowing sticks or the waving board up to the singer when he bows to say goodbye! Are you high on drugs or what you hooligans!

I really hope our fellow Malaysians can be more sporting when comes to concert because it's really embarrassing when the singer commented that 'we are a bunch of no reaction audience'!

A HR manager from a company which build the biggest shopping mall in town called me up offering a job. I went for the interview last year and instead of offering me the position I was interested in, she hard sell me another job. This afternoon she called again offering the same job. What kind of job?

HR: You came for the interview last year and I'm calling to see if you are interested in a job.
Me: What kind of job?
HR: Are you still single or married?
Me: I'm single.
HR: Are you happy in your current job?
Me: Not really.
HR: This job is actually a personal assistant job, er well not exactly personal assistant but your job is to assist our deputy chairman, Datin XXX in preparing all the documents and accompany her to overseas trip.

* sound glamorous eh? can go traveling ... let's see*

Me: Right ...
HR: Basically you need to standby at any hour of the day, get her things done immediately because she cannot tolerate any slackness, you need to prepare presentations, reports and must write very well. Are you good in computer?
Me: I know how to use the PC.
HR: Datin requires her assistant to work even during weekends if she needs to get things done. You cannot say it's a Sunday and you need to rest. She can't take it.
Me: So how often do I require to travel with her?
HR: She doesn't always need you. But once you are traveling with her, you need to pack her luggage and arrange all the necessary travel documents. You have to accompany her to attend all meetings and tend to her every needs.
Me: Right!
HR: So is this the job you want?
Me: NO!
HR: Oh ... then I guess it's ok.
Me: Anyway, thanks for calling.
HR: Okay bye.
Me: Bye (I seriously wanted to ask if she would take up the job if she is me)

From my previous interview, she mentioned to me that this Datin failed to hire any personal assistant since the last one left to get married. Apparently she has some medical problems and needs to go to US for check up. The assistant needs to accompany her to the hospital, get her medicine, stocked-up the fridge (as she has a house in US) and just be the stand-by maid for 24/7 and sometimes might need to do cooking. This assistant do not have any permanent desk or office anywhere. The pay? Fantastically LOW!

I don't like my job but I'm NOT that desperate -.-

Now, who wants this job? I can give you the number to the HR manager who is having a hard time finding the PhD qualified-computer programmer-hardworking like an indon maid type of super assistant who she hopes will not get married for life!

Goodbye Precious Pea ... till we meet again

Precious Pea left for Melbourne yesterday afternoon to fulfill her PR duty for 2 years.

Our relationship started as normal colleague when she joined my ex-company in 2002. She is the quiet girl who sat besides me in our partitioned pigeon space with zero degree of separation. Eventually we grow to became close friends when we discovered our common 'interests' (psst, you know what right?) ;P

She encouraged me to start my own blog and suggested the name 'Live2Talk'.

She invited me along to choose her wedding gown. I witnessed how she endured the protein diet and exercise to fit into that wedding dress she desired (it's a torturous process for someone who is so passionate about food). She looks like a million bucks (just like any other bride) in the gown, not because of the smaller body size but of the glow of happiness on her face.

Our first trip together was in 2003 when we both went to Hong Kong for the first time. We LOL when our accommodation, the Dorsett Seaview Hotel located at Kowloon Yaumatei is so tiny that the TV is hanging from the ceiling! When we opened the blinds, the only view is rooftop and no sea anywhere even with a binocular! We shopped, dined and walked from sunrise to way past sunset until our feet smells like the famous snack stinky tofu 臭豆腐 when we removed our shoes! What fun it was!

She introduced me to the world of food. Crabs especially. I learned how to make glutinous rice with chicken from her and also many more recipes which she generously shared with me. That's how I discovered the creative side of her cooking.

Many years back while I was at her sister's place in Melbourne, she told me in tears over the phone that her first dog, a white spitz name Samuel ran off from home and she has been frantically searching for him at the neighborhood without any trace. I can feel how devastated she was at that time.

I've heard unlimited times how she wanted to buy that husky, chow-chow, shar pei, miniature schnauzer every time she saw those breeds on sale. But Papa Wong will not allow it and her hope will be smashed until she saw another breed on sale.

Pea is a gem she discovered with a good deal and he has always been special to her even after Pumpkin came along. I went with her to picked up little cute puppy Pumpkin from the pet shop without realizing he will turn into a naughty brad when he grows older :) Leaving the boys behind is hard and tears drenching for her but she has to bear the pain for now until the 'family reunion' later (be strong sweetie).

Together we shared many memorable moments and we will continue our friendship through MSN, fb, emails for now.

I'll miss you my dear friend and till we meet again, I wish you all the best in your new journey.

He was the first African American singer I listen to while growing up.

He was my first western idol.

He was the first singer who showed us what is a moonwalk.

He was unique in his own way.

He was the greatest entertainer we ever seen.

He blew me away with his moves.

I went to watch his one and only concert held in KL, although his figure is very tiny due to my 'mountain top' seat, just being there felt like a million bucks!

When I listen to songs like "Billie Jean", "Thriller" or "We are the World", I feel that my body will move along with the rhythm.

He created tsunami wherever he goes.

I don't give a damn what the media labeled him or how people said that he messed up his own life (and that's none of your business anyway), his glorious moments as Michael Jackson will live on forever as he leaves behind a tremendous legacy.

He will forever be the King of Pop in music history.

Rest In Peace, MJ.

Stupidity - Take 2: Believe in Feng Shui

When the newspaper reported one fella who got conned by a so called feng shui master, I was like DUH, another one? Stupidity really has no cure for some people!

17 June 2009, Kuala Lumpur: He was looking at feng shui to change his luck but the reversal of fortune not only left him RM29,260 poorer but without a girlfriend as well.

When the 36-year-old architect, known only as Ong, bought a house at Lakefield, Sungai Besi, his girlfriend recommended that he consult her feng shui master.

She must have been plotting this for a long long time.

Ong went along with her wishes and soon met the feng shui master who told him that he had a spell of bad luck. The “master” promised to turn his luck around for a fee.

Of course lah, who would do stuff for free ... some more this one turn his bad luck into good fortune wor!

Ong promptly issued a cheque for RM29,260 to cover the feng shui expenses of the “master” who claimed that his services were sought worldwide.

Just by what is claimed by the fella? Any proof to support his worldwide network? Even the "masters" in Templer Street, Hong Kong also have Photoshop pictures of celebrity taken with them!

After conducting some rituals at Ong’s new house at 10pm, the “master” told him not to speak of the session to anyone and not to sell the house for the next three years.

Of course don't tell a soul, not even a whisper to your pets no matter how badly you want to share this, as this is a bloody scam lah Mr Architect!

The “master” later demanded RM15,000 for an amulet to “protect” Ong and his girlfriend.

Protection money! By now I thought you should have wake up from the 'spell' already and yet ...

But before even receiving the amulet, Ong’s girlfriend told him that it was broken and RM30,000 was needed to replace it.

Hmm ... I wonder how much share she got from her stupid archi boyfriend?

Feeling suspicious and believing that he had been cheated by the “master” and his girlfriend, Ong refused to pay and soon separated from his girlfriend of five years.

And you got dumped! You are real dumb not to realize her ultimate motive in the first place. Duh!

“I won’t believe in feng shui any more after what had happened,” Ong told a press conference organised by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Michael Chong.

You are so stupid to get cheated by your girlfriend and her alliance and now got the guts to complaint to the press! Better hide your face with a brown paper bag with 2 holes Mr Archi!

“The police will be looking into Ong’s case,” said Chong.

Datuk Chong ah, better spend more time on other worthy cases than this pathetic fella lah!

Boss: "I understand and I also noticed you stayed back to finish the work. But it's not safe for a woman to stay too late alone in the office and you need to walk to the parking lot at the other side of the building. But don't worry, I've the perfect solution for you"
Staff: *full of hope that her boss will at least hire an assistant for her*
Boss: "You can go back by 6.00 pm everyday."
Staff: "Really?"
Boss: "Of course! You have all the accounting system installed in the computer right?"
Staff: "Er yes ..."
Boss: "Your house got a desktop right?
Staff: "Er yes ..."
Boss: "Then you carry the CPU back to your house and continue to work from home after office hour!"
Staff: "Huh??? Carry the CPU back home? But how to carry? And do I've to carry it back to office every morning?"
Boss: "Don't worry, I'll ask someone to help you carry to your car and you can install in your house. I'll arrange for another CPU in the office for you and this way I'm sure you can finish your work on time."
Staff: ... WTF! (don't dare to say it out loud)

The boss want the staff to slave 12 damn hours for him and offered the most idiotic solution ever! This is a real case. Poor staff who hates suck-ing PIG.

It's Just Sugar Coated Dough

For all the doughnuts fans out there, the good news is Krispy Kreme is finally here in KL. To me, it's just another doughnut chain trying to beat other doughnut chains.

The Sun reported that a 17 year old-who-obviously-has-too-much-time-to-waste gathered 5 friends to camp for a freaking 65 hours in front of the store at Berjaya Times Square just to win 1,236 free doughnuts. Of course they win all the six prices offered for the first 300 customers!

Seriously, can you really wallop all the doughnuts? Just because they are free? Or you are so generous as to distribute it to your schoolmate to prove how cool (or in my point of view, how stupid) you are? It's about time you grow up! Now you may look like a skinny 48 kg girl but soon will turn into some obese teenager like those where Krispy Kreme is originated from. It's perfectly alright to occasionally indulge in doughnuts but not for 365 days!

And people forming a queue longer than the Nile River just to buy sugar coated dough? Like duh! What's going on with the society nowadays? Come on, the store will not close down as long as they have customer like you! So what's the rush? Just because everybody is so into kiasusm these days and must get a taste of the first bite?

Do something worth your time instead of wasting it away like this. Engaged in a healthy activity or volunteer in any charity organization, and you will never look back few years later down the road regretting some stupid stunt you did for a 1/2 page fame in the local newspaper!

Pumpkin Rice with Roast Chicken

This is the first cooking for the year. After having to eat bread and take-out for most of the weekend, it's time to take a break from the outside food, I finally decided to try one of the recipe by my unofficial cooking sifu, PreciousPea. Check out her 'Pea's 6 Treasure Pumpkin Rice' here.

The ingredients: pumpkin, mushrooms, dried shrimps and chinese sausage

If you can't live without meat like me: add in some roast chicken

Stir-fry the pumpkin, mushrooms with garlic and shallots

Pour the rice in and stir till fragrant (not cook) and add in 1 teaspoon of salt

Scoop it up and put in the rice cooker and add in the appropriate amount of water

Saute the chopped dried shrimp and chinese sausage and put one side. When the rice is cooked, put in the roast chicken (sliced) and the dried shrimp and chinese sausage on top of the rice. Close the lid for 5 mins for the flavour to blend with the rice.

Stir it gently as the pumpkin is easily mashed. The sweetness of pumpkin compliments well with the rest of the ingredients.

By now, most of you might have heard about the extraordinary 47 year old Susan Boyle from a small village called Blackburn in Scotland who participated in 'Britain's Got Talent' recently. She is currently unemployed and live with her cat name Pebbles :) She entered the contest because of her late mother who encouraged her to just do it.

My beloved grandma passed away this morning after suffering from illness and bedridden for years. I am sad she's gone but at the same time relief that she does not have to suffer anymore pain. I will always remember our time together and the valuable lessons she taught me.

An intriguing conversation took place this afternoon in a cab on the way back to my office.

Driver: Please put on your seatbelt.
Me: Ok (most of the cab driver don't buckle up themselves and you think they give a damn about your safety)

*we were having typical boring-where-you-work-kind-of-chat when suddenly he commented*

Driver: I just don't understand why chinese girls are after other races especially the M community, I don't know what are they thinking! *he sounded quite piss here*
Me: Er maybe there is a lack of available chinese men around ...
Driver: I'm single!
Me: Right!
Driver: I left my wife 5 years ago.
Me: Er why?
Driver: Because she was unfaithful.
Me: Any children from the marriage?
Driver: I have 3 children, all grown up and they are ok with it. Do you know the emotional turmoil you have to go through ah?
Me: But there are a lot of people who stay on for the sake of staying on even if the marriage fails.
Driver: Actually I prefer to stay single all my life but the cat came and scratch at my door! Why the cat must scratched my door?

Driver: Hahaha but i tell you ah the emotion disturbance is crazy ... oh shit ... shit!

Driver: No, this is another cat, not the cat I left ... and before this cat come scratching, also few more cats but I rejected all.
Me: So what makes this particular cat so special you accepted her?
Driver: Because she came scratching at my door! Now I'm in emotional high and low because of this cat! Shit la!
Me: *trying to search for the un-shitty words here* If you don't mind I ask, how old are you?
Driver: I'm 66 and talking to a young girl about my emotional turmoil ... hahaha!
Me: Well ... it's a sharing experience and everything happens for a reason.
Driver: Ya I believe so and I tell you ah, I'm a very religious person. Are you a Christian?
Me: Yes.
Driver: Maybe I'm destined to save this cat lah ... she has lot of problem la, so I think I need to save her soul.
Me: Good for you.
Driver: I tell you ah ... never question God. If the cat is what He sents then just accept it. I asked God you know ... why this cat come scratching at my door. If you follow what He asked to do, then you will get something good in return. Last time my hair used to be all white now it's slowly turning black ... see it?

*he took off his cap and showed me the thinning white hair with new hair growth beneath*

Me: So now from the back you will look like 56?
Driver: No, not 56 but it's 35! I negotiated with God. *I don't know you can do that!* I know you don't believe me but it's the truth.

*okay this chinese uncle who speaks excellent english is really stretching his luck with God me thinks*

Me: *at 66 years old?* Right!

*by this time, I've reached office so end of conversation*

So I guess no matter whether you are 16 or 66, when a cat come scratching at your door, there is no escape :)

6) When your boss asked question like, "why am I always so free?" and yet expect the staff to work 12 hours in a day.

A friend is getting married. She is starting a new journey with her chosen man but yet to figure out how to drive the journey from her going to be new home to office -_-

A friend is ending his marriage. Finally a lawyer has been appointed as both sides agreed that nothing can be done to save the marriage and they should move on with their separate lives already.

Both friends are good and kind-hearted person who deserve happily ever after but why someone is getting married and the other is ending it?

Is marriage that fragile at this era? Why our parents and ancestors can be married till death do them apart? Is it because their love is more simple and people today opt for a more complicated life? What happened to the i-will-love-you-forever promises? Spoken without commitment?

Saw this sign at the Gardens shopping center recently.

Someone must be snoring on this comfortable sofa while waiting for the other half to finish shopping, thus the management decided to put up a courtesy sign to remind these sleepyheads not to distract other shoppers with their voice pollution or saliva dripping scene!

My personal view is that they should laminate the sign against the sofa because people can't sleep on the tiny table mah, rite? ;P

What were you like when you are 13?

I'm not sure about you. But when I was 13 years old, I am still a kid who never want to grow up. I just want to spend time my friends on some games of rope jumping, 5-stones and drawing some boxes on the floor and jump with one leg from one box to another. We cannot afford the luxury PC or any tech gadgets which kids are enjoying these days. We are contented with what we can get our hands on just to have a good play-time (minus the station). At 13, I have no idea what is the hell is S.E.X and boys to me was ... well, just boys.

But here you have a 13 year old who is still a kiddo himself fathered a baby girl (to be confirmed via DNA later) after having unprotected sexual intercourse with his 15 year old girlfriend. If you still don't know about this news which rocked Britain, read it here. Of course, this is not the first and will definitely not the last case.

Is the world moving too fast or I'm too slow in my steps to catch up? God bless them all.

Recently I went for an interview (just because I'm new at my job, 2 months to be exact, doesn't mean that I cannot attend another interview right?) I'm not going to bore you with standard-boring questions but what I find most amusing is this section ...

Interviewer: May I know which year you were born? (while looking at my application from)
Me: 19XX
Interviewer: Er what I meant is which animal sign?
Me: Oh ok ... I'm a tiger.
Interviewer: Oh I see ... the reason I asked is because my boss is a Hongkie so he's very particular on this feng shui thing. (she actually wrote down the word 'tiger' next to the year)
Me: Right! (trying to mimic the Brits accent here)

As a Chinese I can understand that feng shui artifact and predictions for the year is important to most chinese bosses, but I've absolutely no idea you have to go through all this crap in hiring a staff! I'm not talking about some small time business here but a listed company on the stock exchange!

In this case, I strongly suggest that a copy of the Chinese zodiac compatibility chart be given to the HR Manager for easy reference. Does that mean all the staff are hired based on their zodiac compatibility to suit the boss's animal instinct?

Potential Employee #1
His/her animal sign is very good with the boss. The perfect combination! But stammer during the whole interview and can't even answer simple question.

Potential Employee #2
His/her animal sign is the least compatibility with the boss. But has a record of high performance.

So the question here is: which animal to hire?

A Taste of Taiwan

Once a while, I'll post up something on food. I seldom do it because I'm not a pro ... unlike her who can really cook up a delicious feast or him who can really write a masterpiece just by chewing a piece of chicken! Darn! They are good ^_^

Fong Lye Taiwanese Restaurant. I heard so much about the food here, so I invited a friend to accompany me. The place was packed! Recession? What's that? A new dish name?

It has a variety of set meals and ala carte order.

Every chinese family will tell you this ... soup is important. All the 'goodness' can be found in a bowl of good soup. The carrot soup they serve is very clear (almost tasteless) but still I finished till the last drop.

All set meals come with side dishes as this, peanut with anchovies coated with sugar, fried prawn ball and long beans.

No chinese meal is complete without the rice. And if you dine in Fong Lye, it even has minced meat on top. It's good just to eat the minced meat rice alone. Sometimes a simple meal can warm the stomach.

3 cup chicken (三杯鸡), very flavourable with a taste of sweetness. Portion is huge for 1 person to consume so it's always wise to share :)

Slices of beef stir-fry in ginger and onion leaves. The beef was tender but the taste is norm.

Overall, the food is good and I'll not hesitate to go back again to taste another round of taiwanese cuisine or maybe I should drop by Taiwan for the real deal :D

We all have our little stories to share when we looked back at 2008.

I've changed jobs at the 11th hour when everybody is anticipating their bonuses; Befriends some kind souls from facebook and believe that our friendship will grow over the years; Stumbled upon interesting bloggers who can write masterpieces and take magnificent shots; Signed up as volunteer with World Vision Malaysia; Visited Singapore for the first time and many more.

this is how you should wash your hair as demonstrated by my cousin, she is so going to kill me for posting up this :P

Here's the result of the resolutions I made for 2008:

#1: To pay off my credit card balance and spend less [ mission failed ]
The balance is still there but I'm slowly reducing my spending habit.

#2: To lose 10kg [ mission failed ]
Failed at this totally! I've lose a few pounds but still not enough to achieve the weight I desired!

#3: To reduce on my meat intake [ partially accomplished ]
It's not like I'm a 100% vegan because I still like the meaty feeling when I'm chewing one, but I've reduced on my daily intake.

#4: To learn a new skill [ mission failed ]
When I resoluted this, I was thinking about martial arts type of skill but I'm not determine enough to accomplish this. Absolutely my fault :(

#5: To send my parents to China for a holiday [ pending accomplishment ]
Because of the Sichuan earthquake and the tainted milk incidents, they refused to step foot in China for the moment ... not my fault right?

#6: To go for an overdue holiday with my best friends [ pending accomplishment ]
I tried to arrange but they are not as keen as I am. One is married enjoying her honeymoon, one rather go and hug her boyfriend in Shanghai and one more is busy with her life. Also not my fault right? o.O

#7: To read more books [ partially accomplished ]
I'm determined to read 2 books every month but in 2008, I've only read a total of 8 books with various titles from non-fiction to self-improvement.

#8: To keep my current mobile phone (SE500i) until 2009! [ mission accomplished ]
I passed this with flying colors! Err I think the Sony Ericsson's C905 is already out in the market, no? ;P

For 2009, I'm not going to have any resolutions. I wanted to see what surprises life is waiting for me ahead and how far I can go without any written commitments.

Everybody is anticipating 2009 will be a tough year but I believe we can overcome the challenges with a positive attitude. Let's do it folks!

Singapore Experience: Part 3 - Food, Drink & Shop

Let's start this entry with a taste of Singapore.

The original Hainanese Chicken Rice - this might look norm but it's really good, especially the aroma of the rice with the smooth chicken meat ... so much better than the typical chicken rice!

Hokkien Prawn Noodle - a personal favorite when I first tasted it :P

Popiah - i like the Malaysian version better

Singapore Char Kway Teow - i never tasted a sweet version of char kway teow until now and it tastes funny and I can't finish the noodles

Singapore Laksa - full of coconut milk flavor but lack the ummphh of chili paste

Fried Carrot Cake - quite plain to my taste

I heard the Singaporeans love japs food and we tried some of the ramen at this shop near Orchard Road. Not many seats and choice of food but they said the soup is boiled for 8-hours without any MSG.

My Singaporean friend also invited me for lunch at Sushi Te i at Ngee Ann City. Love the food there and it's reasonable too if you are earning Singapore dollar! (thanks Chris for lunch)

We had our Christmas dinner at Brewerkz, facing the Clarke Quay waterfront, highly recommended by my cousin.

Crab Pasta - not sure what is the greeny thick sauce but this is too filling if consume alone

BBQ Pork Ribs - this is good stuff but need to be shared

Sausages with mash potato - not very interesting, taste wise

Have a Cuppa
When my cousin told us that she's bringing us to have nice coffee when we are down in Singapore, I welcomed the idea with excitement.

I feel in love with tcc (the coffee connoisseur) when I took that sip of Choco Rummin'. They have variety of coffee selection and food. Too bad I didn't get the chance to visit their outlet for a second time >.< (Gerald, next time ya)

Iced Kaffello Latte - iced coffee with coffee jelly

Azuki Coffee Cooler - coffee with a layer of special red beans

Choco Rummin' - bliss of chocolate cookie laced with golden rum and espresso

The Deep Blue Pack - a selection of seafood served with a tangy mayo dip, this is perfect for sharing

Spice Chic - pieces of fried chicken fillet, nothing spicy about the meat ... not recommended

Another interesting coffee joint in Singapore is the Coffee Club. Before our departure, we tried out their coffee and dessert at Vivocity.

Macademia Nut Toffee - interesting combination but I can't feel the macademia taste

Iced rambutan - nothing special about this drink, taste more like lychee smoothies

Muddy Mud Pie - this is actually cappuccino and chocolate ice cream covered with oreos

Shop, Shop, Shop

The shopping spree was tiring but I think we boosted up the Singapore economy with the rest of the shoppers in that few days of visit. In total, we bought 7 pairs of Charles & Keith on sale heels which you can't find in the Pavilion KL outlet. A number of shirts from G2000 at S$29.00 per piece and some other stuff.

This is all I bought - 1 pair of sunnies, bag, shoe and a crystal tee all under S$150. Nice? Please say yes ^^

With this final entry on my Singapore experience, I conclude in 4 words: I. WILL. BE. BACK!

Singapore Experience: Part 2 - Sentosa Island & Night Safari

We planned to have a nice brunch at Vivocity before heading to Sentosa Island. But when we reached the counter, all we saw can be described in 4 words: "people mountain people sea" (人山人海), literally means too many people.

We skipped the counter and managed to buy the S$3.00 train tickets. When we reached Sentosa, we have to queued again for 30 mins for the tram to fetch us to the Dolphin Lagoon.

S$22 for Dolphin Lagoon and Underwater World but if you are a Singaporean or PR, you are entitled to a 25% discount. And if you are neither any of the above, then pay the price in full.

By the time we bought our tickets, it was already packed with all the front seats filled up for the Dolphin show. We have no choice but to drag our own plastic chair under the shade and seat behind the audience and make sure our butt stick to our chair, if not it will be gone with a snap of fingers! When the show stared, we were standing throughout as we can't view from our seat.

The 30 mins performances were definitely worth the wait by the adorable, intelligent and charming pink dolphins *clap clap*

Some lucky volunteers who performed hula hoop in front of the audience got a reward of being kissed by one of the dolphin. If you want to be kissed, make sure you are seated right in front to catch the presenter attention or you can call me and I'll arrange something for ya >_*

After the dolphin show, we decided to skip the Underwater World because it was getting late and we don't want to miss our Night Safari adventure.

Night Safari
This premier night zoo houses over 900 animals of 135 exotic species in eight zones re-created to simulate geographic zones like the Southeast Asian rainforest, African savanna, Nepalese river valley, South American pampas and Burmese jungle. Strike out on your own along the walking trail or relax in a tram ride. Admission ticket at S$22.00 without the tram ride or S$32.00 comes with a 30 mins ride.

When we reached Night Safari by 7.30 pm, we were advised to queue early for the Creatures of the Night Show which starts at 8.30 pm. As usual, the queue is way too long. What to do? Get in line lah.

I didn't manage to snap any pictures because we are not allow to use flash as this might blind some of the animals in the long run. We are looking forward to this show and feel excited when we saw the first animals emerged from it's habitat. But then drops of rain starts to fall from the sky and getting heavier every minute and the show has to be canceled!

What? We waited 30 mins for a 5 mins show? Oh man ... this really sucks! And there is noway we are going to queue for the 9.30 pm show as the entrance is already packed with people! So we headed to the tram ride together with the rest of the people and kids.

We queued up for 1 hour for this!

Each animal exhibit is adopted by an organization or individual. During the ride, we saw a half asleep lion who probably thinks "another bunch of jokers", herds of elephants, rhinos, a Malayan tiger (who was adopted by Tiger Balm!), hyena, giant anteater and many more.

At the end of the ride, it was all worth it. By the time all this over and we reached my cousin's place by 11.30 pm, we headed straight to the 24 hr McD outlet to rejuvenate ourselves with food! I think the amount of time and energy spent queuing at Sentosa and Night Safari can make up for the year's quota!

Who said Singaporeans are kiasu? You should take a look at the tourist from India at the Night Safari! They push you, cut queue, run passed a barricade like a bunch of escaped inmates (we nearly have a stampede!), step on your foot without apologizing and demand unreasonably. Because the show was canceled due to the rain, these bunch of people who bought admission tickets without the tram ride demanded to ride on one when the service staff informed them politely they are not allow to do so. They refused to budge from the gate and cause all of us to wait and wait and wait. It's insane, really! Finally they gave up after all the shouting in their mother tongue English accent. Like DUH!

Singapore Experience: Part 1 - Christmas

I'll write about my Singapore experience in 3 parts. Yeah, I've that much to blog about for the 4 days/3 nites pleasure trip.

Me, sister and cousin boarded a coach in front of Corus Hotel at 9.00 am and arrived in Singapore Harbour Front by 2.00 pm on Christmas day.

The double-deck coach was comfortable with good seats, a pillow if you want to be a sleeping beauty waiting for Prince Ah Beng to rescue you, Subway sandwiches and coffee/tea of your choice. The only disappointed is their selection of movies. It sucks! Luckily I had my iPod and a good book with me :)

To get around Singapore, you just need to familiarize yourself with the MRT routes. Get yourself one of those EZ-link card and you can have unlimited rides on MRT/buses, to buy food and more (sometimes I wonder if Malaysia will ever catch up, no?).

Friends already pre-warned me that Singapore will be packed during Christmas.

I knew Orchard Road will have a human traffic jam but this is not what I had in mind o.O

You literally can't move very much in this situation.

You can't even stop for a second to admire the decorations as people are pushing you around :(

My cousin sister said the Christmas deco this year is nothing to shout about but for me who never been to Singapore until now, I think there are some pretty impressive decorations.

I'm very grateful for my cousin, Siew Leng and her best friend, Karen for allowing us to accommodate at their place and took us around Singapore. A warm hug and big THANK YOU babes, for everything.

Also not forgetting my 2 Singaporean friends, Chris & Gerald for their hospitality when I agreed to meet up. Thanks guys for lunch and coffee and offered me your mobile phone when mine run out of credit! It's my pleasure to meet you both and 'see ya' on MSN (=^_^=)

Holly Jolly Christmas

This year I'll be celebrating Christmas with my sisters and friends in Singapore. This is the first time I'm stepping onto the soil in the country down south and breathing (hopefully) a less polluted air (Singapore is not on my die-die must-go-visit-country list if you must know).

My cousin has moved to the land of Ah Bengs in August and I don't have to pay for pricey budget hotel in Geylang! So, Sentosa Island, Dolphin Lagoon, Night Safari, Orchard Road and hainanese chicken rice ... here I come :D

Pepper Lunch

Pepper Lunch(ペッパーランチ Peppaa-ranchi) is a popular japanese "fast-steak" restaurant franchised in Tokyo. There are over 200 restaurants in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, USA, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

It has finally arrived at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur recently.

Beef from Australia and New Zealand, Norwegian Salmon, Japanese Curry are all seasoned with freshly ground black pepper and served on a metal hot plates, heated to 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 Celsius). The meat can be eaten rare or well done, depending on the your preference.

Don't touch the plate! No kidding!

3 easy steps to cook it, you don't need a chef to do it

The salmon is good but the chicken lack some chicken taste.

The hamburger is excellent but I think I've overdone on the steak.

A Moment of Celebration

This morning I woke up feeling great.

The sky is clear with enough clouds and rays of sunshine. Ah ... the beauty of nature.

The train for once is punctual and have ample place to stand during peak hours (err chinese new year holiday already here meh?)

The cabs was lining up when I arrived at the station (a rare sight).

The morning breakfast of caramel macchiato turns out perfect and the raisin bread melts in my mouth.

Bumped into my boss while having lunch alone and he paid for it :)

I was born on this date, on a certain year (don't ask, I'll not let you know the 'secret') .

A colleague told me that she won't live past 69. How does she knows? She consulted some palm reader. I can sensed her unhappiness when she said it. The look of sorrow was not hidden well behind a smile.

How do you expect your life to out? Are you one of those people who will pay a palm reader to tell you how to live your life? Or do you want to discover the adventure along the way? I personally prefer the latter option, definitely more exciting. Everybody passed through stages in their life experiencing ups and downs, joys and tears. Me no exception, this is how I see it ...

It's good if you excel academically but never stop learning no matter at what age (just so that you know, my results never associate with flying colors). Gosh there are so little I know and so much to learn.

Never discriminate, learn to forgive and forget, and accept criticism. To respect every race for their culture and beliefs. We are all citizen of the world and I pray that one day we will live in a harmony and peaceful world without throwing shoes.

Slaving ourselves for 10 straight hours everyday is not the way. Go for a break/holiday when you feel work is suffocating you. And for goodness sake, try to cut down on the working hours once in a while will ya! (when your colleagues/boss knock-off at 6.00 pm for happy hours and you are still calculating the taps on your keyboard ... this is not a good sign!)

Yes, we work our butt off to sustain our lifestyles, but contributing back to the community and help in our little ways (time/money) will make us a happier person.

Our family is not to be taken for granted. Parents are brought up from a different era and they don't see things the way we do. Patience and understanding with a lot of love will make the home the warmest place on earth.

We don't need to have a lot of friends. Just enough to warm our hearts and stand by our side (I can never thank my dear friends enough)

Never stop searching for your soul mate (straight or otherwise is your choice and I respect that), he/she is out there. A person who willing to share your joy and sorrows and to stand by your side even if the sky tumbles down. Love each other unconditionally with trust and respect.

I don't believe in following trends blindly. Each of us are born with a unique set of DNA, which includes own identity and personality. It's not a welcome sight to see the next 5 person you meet on the street wearing the almost identical outfit! err quintuplets?

Do you have a dream? We all should have dreams. Who knows? It might come true ... remember this 3 words: LAW. OF. ATTRACTION. (mine is backpack in different countries, experience different culture)

Don't invite worries as your sleeping partner or you might as well stay awake all night. Read a book and have a good sleep. (please don't disturb moi, I need to zzz ...)

There's a PC game called 'Diner Dash' and it's about a waiter who dash from one table to another serving customer and you score according to the completed levels. But please don't be a "human dash". Stop for a moment, sit back, observe the surrounding and see if we miss out anything. (anyone interested in a cup of Starbucks coffee will know my number ya)

Signing up for gym membership is good if you are really into exercise and not just to parade your latest gear and make eye contact with that gym instructor. A healthy lifestyle balance between moderate exercise and healthy food (and it's absolutely okay to indulge in the doctor-don't-approve-kind-of-food once a while, detox later).

Okay, enough of my life as I see it for now. I'll be heading home for a warm meal with my family tonight, reason being ... I don't have a date on my birthday! Can you believe it?

December ... my favorite month in the whole year. Workload is usually less during this time, the approaching of Christmas and the gift selection for close friends and a long overdue much deserve holiday break (oh did I mention my birthday is also in December ;P)

Recent years, I never receive any birthday present from my friends. Not because they want to save $$$ but we agreed to use the money for a more meaningful purpose. We have opt to used the $$$ to buy gifts for our World Vision sponsored child or donate to a charity. We only need to spend quality time over meal to catch up on our busy lives.

In a Sticky Situation

My sister's boyfriend who went to Bangkok couple of weeks ago gave us 3 packets of the famous Thai sticky/glutinous rice upon his return. I was excited until I realized that I've requested PreciousPea to buy me a packet from her Krabi trip (oh no, how can I forget that).

Then my mom told me that there's a packet of sticky rice still lying somewhere in the kitchen (this was also from PreciousPea who got it from Chatuchak market months ago when she went to Bangkok!). Okay, in total I have 5 packets of sticky rice in my procession o.O

I've no choice but to quickly kick start my sticky rice mission with Loh Mai Kai (glutinous rice with chicken). I tried this before, recipe is here if you are interested :)

Previously I used a pot to mixed the seasoning with rice but this time I used the wok instead. I find it easier this way. I added some olive oil to the wok before I pour the cooked rice in. Then I mixed all the seasoning in a bowl before pouring in the rice. Stir evenly and this is really hard work because the rice tends to ... well stick together.

Place the rice on top of the ingredients and cover the lid of each container before steaming it again (the containers are courtesy of a friend, thanks Babe).

The end result :)

Now folks, any idea what to do with the rest of the rice (4 packets left) ... to er get me out of this sticky situation?

A Hearty Meal

Friday afternoon. As I've few days left to chill out before the start of my new job, a friend decided to invite me for lunch and we went to Pick N' Brew at 1 Utama. I've never been to this place although have heard it from her and it runs by him.

Irish cream Frappélicious - smooth and not too sweet to my liking

Oven baked potato skin with beef bacon - a yummy appetizer

Pesto and sun dried tomato with (optional) added grilled seafood with a choice of your pasta - I picked fettucini but i feel that the taste is quite bland (err I'm a salty person). If you don't add anything, the pasta only comes with ... well, pasta. A bit pricey for just plain pasta, I think.

My friend had beef cheeseburger and Green Tea Frappélicious. After the meal, we went to have some singing and swaying exercise at the nearest karaoke before I left for my farewell dinner :)

My friends (now ex-colleagues) organized a farewell dinner for me at the Lala Chong Seafood Restaurant, opposite Terminal 3 of the old airport. The menu was decided by this babe who frequent the place recently ;P

Time to Move On

Today is the last day at my current job. I am truly leaving with mixed feelings; excited about my new career opportunity but sad to be leaving so many wonderful friends and colleagues. But I guess when the right time comes, we have to move on and accept new challenges ahead.

I learned a great deal and worked with many people with whom I am sure I will remain friends for a long time. I hope that my new job will give me such rewarding experiences and supportive friends.

I shall continue my journey alone from here. Thank you for the wonderful years together friends =^_^=

Kiasusm is Everywhere

Jokes on Ah Beng culture are making their rounds everyday but those Ah Beng who thinks they are not part of the ah beng's community is actually more ah beng than the real Ah Bengs! get me?

I noticed that Malaysian and people from the other side of the globe are embracing on the kiasusm syndrome, no matter what color, race or which mother tongue they speak at home. Here are some pretty obvious scenario:-

Just take a look at people queueing up for the "buy 1 free 1 cake" promotion by some cake house couple of days back. These people started the queue some 3 hours before the promotion starts at 11.00 am? Not only they caused the whole street to jammed up with illegal parking but they can't wait to stuff themselves with flour and sugar mixed together! How much can you eat anyway? Cheesecake some more? I can't even finish 1 slice for goodness sake!

Pump It

They jammed up the road and petrol stations the day before Government announce price increase (may I suggest to our Gov to keep it a top secret on future price increase announcement until 11.55 pm prior to doomsday).

Don't they realize that instead of saving money, they are actually burning more fuel and wasting time by being kiasu? Nobody like to have fuel price increase but if it happens, we have to accept the fact and do adjust our spending lah!

Quote my dad: "Even if you pump now, it is not going to last very long unless you totally abandon your car and I ain't going to waste my time and petrol to queue for petrol". Well said dad, well said!

I Believe I Can Fly

The 'Now Everyone Can Fly' company offers affordable air tickets so that everyone can fly. The only disadvantage of course is you need to be the 'first-in-line' to grab a seat unless you paid for express boarding. Everybody and their mother-in-law will start to form a line when they heard the first announcement about their flight.

Even when the announcement is on flight delay. The problem with these people is that they won't budge from the queue not even when the flight crew advised passengers to take a seat and wait! They rather stand so that the next kiasu fella won't jump queue from the side!

And when the plane finally arrived, they will race as if in a marathon hoping to pick the best seat. Then the airbus landed on ground, they will start getting up from their seat and pull down their 20kg luggage and can't wait to get off the plane before it comes to a complete stop! Gawd!

Multi-Talented

I do understand that as parents, they want to give the best in their ability to their kid and groom them up to be somebody they are proud (and show) off. But to enroll them in 10 different kind of activities besides school is really absurd! Can you imagine, the poor kid has to learn music, ballet, kung fu, tennis, swimming and God knows what else is there besides tons of homework everyday?

Come on ... give the kid a break! Unless of course he/she shows some natural-born talent in one of the classes, I think it's only wise to let them enjoy their childhood and go with the flow. Don't force them to be who you think they should be in order to earn your love. At school, I'm not the smartest kid and I don't earn a high-flying salary now but I turn out okay, as a person.

I Got It First

These are kids/teens/adults who naturally inherited the kiasu DNA. Can you believe it that they actually camped out to buy a book featuring some specky wizard? My question is this: are you going to fall apart and vanish from this earth if you don't read it immediately after it has been released?

I can pity you if it's free food but this? *shaking head* The same goes to those who camped out for a PS3 or the Anya Hindmarch's I'm Not A Plastic Bag bag o.O

If you can afford to spend the money and time doing those stuff, why not do something more beneficial like help out children who don't get an opportunity in basic education? Together we can help build a better world for these children by sponsoring a child through World Vision. Thank you.

The last time I checked, we do live in a civilized world. So please ... behave like one.

Two weeks ago I placed an order with MOO on my custom made minicards. They finally arrived all the way from London.

The first time I encountered this product, is from this babe, who printed who else but her two precious doggies on her minicards. So for the fun of it, I also ordered mine (^_^)

It comes in a box of 100 minicards and you can choose the images of your choice.

The LRT is packed during peak hours ... as usual. Especially so these few weeks. Passengers are hoping to find a spot to stand. Seat? Forget about seating. You should thank your lucky star if you found a spot to stand where nobody will lean on you and shake their body at the same time!

Yes, I experienced it myself this morning. A woman who is sandwiched between me and another lady keeps shaking her booty to non-existence music when me, who's on iPod trying to balance my feet, stand still and control my irritation all @ the same time! o.O

And when you finally found the spot and walking towards it, you will understand why no passenger occupy the space. Damn! I should know better!

There's this moron squatting down on a moving train, between all the legs including mine :(

Friendship Matters

We all need friends in our life. I can't imagine how we can live without friends to share our laughter and rants.

With platforms like facebook, friendship has become border less and the world has since become a much smaller place. I always seek for sincere and honest friendship because that's what they are getting from me.

I've encountered jerks who lied their teeth off from the start with bullshits and those who think they owned the world at their feet just because they think they are 10 cents richer than the rest. Well moron, let me tell you this ... there's no place in my life to take your crap. You can save your show-offs to your worshipers. Next!

There must be a very good reason why out of millions of people, we can be friends. You and me. So here's my take on friendship:-

The Best Friends

They are my true friends since high school. They have been with me when I broke off with my ex and keep encouraging me that my soul mate is out there somewhere (babes, I'm still waiting leh). They cheered for me when I've slimmed down but said "it's ok dear" when I gained back the darn pounds! They listened to my never ending rants on my sucker boss and advised me to stay positive. They scolded me when I splurged on another pair of shoe but at the same time agreed with me on the choice ;p They are my BFF and I can never thank them enough for everything. God bless them.

The Just Friends

They are people I get to befriend over the years ... from school, work, weddings, parties, gatherings, facebook, etc. We'll meet up occasionally for meals or visit each other during the festive season. Communication is so much easier now with technology like MSN when we are world apart and phone calls ain't cheap. They might not be my best friends but I know when I need any help, I can count on them.

The Bloggers Friends

We have never met ... yet :) but I'm positive someday we will. They are friends from blogsphere. I stumbled upon their blog one day and placed my 2 cents worth of comment and they did the same to mine (more than 2 cents actually on their part). I bookmarked their URL on my firefox because they are all talented bloggers with individual creativity. Bravo guys ... job well done (^_^)

The Facebook Friends

This is where I befriend my first English Rose who worshiped her cat name Rodney, a Canadian grandma whose cat is the size of a shih-tzu, an non-kiasu kind-hearted Singaporean dude, a cool Taiwanese guy who loves Porsche cars, a Sunneh with a hidden Dark Knight attitude, a group of Hongkie kitteh lovers and a lot of other interesting individuals. I'm expanding my network of friends across the ocean.

I'll always send them a personal message when I accepted their request or vice-versa because there is no point having 2,000 friends on your profile and you can't even remember their name! Geez ... how pathetic is that?

The Seasonal Friends

Whenever I called them up, they are always in a rush and no time to talk. Ok fine. But when they call you out of the blue, you know it's only for 2 things. Either they are getting married or they have joined the insurance business! The former most likely is the case. Anyway, they do keep in touch sometimes ... by forwarding those "send to 10 persons to receive good luck" type of emails. That's how important I am to them. Duh!

The Boy-Friend

Mistaken Identity

Last Friday, Raymond Lam 林峯 made an appearance at Pavilion KL for his promo tour. Me and my sis have made plans to meet up for dinner and hope to catch a glimpse of him among all the leng chais and leng luis. We did after standing for 1 hour with high heels :( The sound systems sucks big time and we can't hear what is he singing because we stand quite far from the mini stage. In the end, we gave him up for japanese soba ^^

While waiting for my sis, I did some shopping at MNG. I was looking at a tee with interesting graphic on the front when suddenly I felt a body pressed against my shoulder.

A guy who is about 6 feet tall was talking to me in mandarin without looking at me. He said: "you bought a lot of this type of tee already so don't buy anymore".

I stood there for a mere 3 seconds before looking up at the unfamiliar face. Ok I'm sure I don't know this dude and he's definitely don't work for MNG.When he sensed that I didn't give him a response ... he finally looked down at me.

And the shock on his face ... priceless! He has actually mistaken me for his girlfriend! With a face so embarrassed, he keep on saying: "oh i'm so sorry ... sorry ... sorry". Then I replied in mandarin: "it's ok" and can't help smiling :D

He seems so lost but finally found his girlfriend who is browsing some clothes at the other side of the store. I think he told her what happened but the girlfriend just ignored him because she never look up! But the dude keeps looking at me and when I left the store, I gave him an understanding smile.

The thing is ... me and the girlfriend are wearing totally different dress. I'm wearing a black cardigan and she's wearing a light gray tee. And she is so much slimmer than me! How can he made such mistake? I'm sure we don't smell the same! I'm glad he did not put his hand on my shoulder or hug my waist! phewww

So guys, identity your girlfriend properly before doing anything stupid like asking her NOT to buy the dress/shoe/bag or whatever!

I've never come across any woman who only have 1 bag for any occasion. Even my mom have more bags she can ever use! For me, I've every bag for every occasion. My sister even suggested that we sell our 'long forgotten' bags on eBay :) Any buyers?

Have you wonder why a woman need so many bags? This post is to help some dudes out there who can't seem to get it. Hey, nowadays guys have more than 1 bag rite?

When our job sucks, we buy nice bag. So simple.

Hang out with friends @ Starbucks, watching the world pass by (looking at the dudes more like it).

For the hot date or when we think he's hot because it has been ages since we last go out on a date! Time to impress!

To match that little black dress (LDB) after having boiled vegetables only for dinner for like 4 weeks in a row ... gawd :(
