2007 New Year Resolutions

It’s time of the year when everybody is resolute to make up their own resolutions list. Maybe I’ll just dig up my previous year list and see which one I’ve not accomplished and start on it (sigh).

To attend more church service before God forgets me, the wandering and lost sheep!

To resume my savings plan (which is so looooooooong overdue)

To start back on my exercise regime – to shed those unwanted kilos

To start eating healthy food but not vegetarian just less oily and junk foods, a bit difficult but hopefully can control myself

No junk foods ... er maybe once a while during the festive seasons :P

To learn a new recipe every month

To stop grumbling so much

To smarten my driving skill not that I’m bad but there's still room for improvement

Still got lots more to resolute but I'm not sure can accomplish the list above or not.

Have a good year in 2007 everyone! Cheers!

Mobile phones

I’m absolutely crazy about mobile phones. Here's a recall of all the mobile phones which I owned before.

Nokia 3210
: my first Nokia phone given by my ex-bf in 1997

Nokia 3310 : given by the same ex-bf in 1999

Nokia 8250 : exchanged with a friend for my 3310 as the keypad is too small for his hand

Nokia 6610: My first color phone where my ex-bf signed up DiGi 2-year plan in exchange with this phone but in the end not worth it, so I sold it to my ex-boss and got the money for a new phone in 2003. Ya I broke up with my him the same year but informed him about selling the phone as it's still his property.

Oh ya I was a Nokia fan all along.

I went to Hong Kong in 2003 with Ivy and met up with her friend Winnie who owned a Samsung S300 and immediately made a decision to get the same phone back home. The only reason is that the LCD screen can be used as a mirror when the phone is not in use.

Samsung S300: My first clamshell phone bought by me.

But soon, everybody is so into camera phones and I suddenly discovered that Sony Ericsson really have some fantastic phones after the merger (between the ever chunky-ugly Ericsson and Sony). I read some good reviews on the SE phones so decided to get myself a camera phone in 2004.

Sony Ericsson K5001: My first camera and video recording phone (I traded-in my Samsung for this ... can't get much at that time 'sigh'). And I'm no longer a Nokia fan after I bought this phone.

By then a new trend has emerged, all the bluetooth, walkman phone, etc etc. So to keep up with ever changing trends, I'm 'forced' by my inner desire to change my phone again(ya excuse excuse all excuses)!

Sony Ericsson W550i: My first walkman and current phone

So far, I've tried Nokia, Samsung and SE. Nokia is very conservative in their design but no doubt some of their features are quite good like those N-series. And the prices is damn high if compare to the same type of phone by other brands.

But somehow I just don't like Motorola. It's not very user friendly and you need to click here and there to get a simple task completed.

The other one that is now hot in the market is Dopod but not sure how good they are as they are still new in the market. As for others like Alcatel, BenQ-Siemens, LG, Panasonic, etc, er I think I'll give them a miss.

As for my next phone, not sure yet. But I love to get one of these - iPod Nano.

Merry Christmas

Dear Family, Friends and everybody who drop-by,

It's time of the year to enjoy the season before the start of a new year. I hope that we achieved what we intended to in the beginning of the year but if not, then there's always 2007 to look forward to.

I'm currently taking a few days break from all the hassle at work as the saying goes ... "rest is for us to continue the journey further". I've been saving my leave from beginning of the year (although I know some friends who doesn't have enough), my only regret is that I didn't manage to save enough $$$ to have some nice holidays abroad except to Phuket few months back.

My hope at work is that I can survive my fatso big boss (fei kwai) until the new manager comes around. But I know I can never treat him/her the same way I treated my ex-boss, Mr M who can really tolerate me the last 4 years we worked together. I don't think I can find another one like him although he can be quite fussy sometimes!

This Christmas as usual received a lot of gifts from family and friends, thank you all. I hope that we can forget our differences and get on with life. Please forgive me if I said or done anything that pisses you off this year.

Enjoy the season and Merry Christmas Everyone!

A worthy Christmas Musical

I went to watch a Christmas Musical by Metro Tabernacle A/G last Friday (15/12/06) at Hotel Flamingo. Thanks to my colleague, Simone who asked me to tag along as her friend and husband has invited her to watch the production.

"Word on the Street"
is a musical that blends a poignant drama of love with live music and energetic dances. This Christmas production reframes the biblical story of Joseph and Mary in a modern era. From happy dreams of engagement to an unjust charge of unfaithfulness, it takes us on a journey that reveals how God works in extraordinary ways using ordinary people. With God’s love, all fears and doubts can be conquered. With God’s love, all things are possible.

The program started with christmas carols. I absolutely love the band aka the musicians. They are a bunch of creative individuals who can really jammed up a good song. Have you sing 'Joy to the World' in rock version! How cool can that be?

After the welcome speech, the musical took place. It's very different from the normal christmas musical as the production team have come up with some pretty interesting ideas to bring the message across to the audience.

The cast did an excellent job portraying each character in the bible. I especially love the Angel named Gabriel. He is so cool as an Angel. No he doesn't have the 'ring' on top of his head or wings. Hmm lets see he's like Will Smith in 'Hitch' ha ha ha. But seriously I love that guy's acting and how I wish the Angel assigned to look after me is just like him (if there's any)!

Overall the whole musical was good. Their targeted audience this time is more towards young people and I believe that God has already leave an impression in their heart. I truly enjoyed myself and looking forward to more exciting production in the future.

Anyway, you can visit their website @ http://christmas.metrotab.org to check out the details.

My wish

The sign says:
The Centaur—the combination of horse and man, and the Sagittarius symbol—represents a combination of powerful intellect teamed with physical strength and energy. These are strong, independent spirits, full of energy, versatility and adventurousness. The Sagittarius loves travel and exploration—the more so because their minds are constantly open to new dimensions of thought. Ambitious and optimistic, these are the types of people whose hopes are not easily dashed, and who, perhaps because of this, tend to find much luck in life.

I'm born on this day - 18 December under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius. The flower that represents Sagittarius is Gerbera, which is also my favorite flower. How young am I? I wish to be forever 28 ... why because I like the number! This is just the nice age for any girl, so to speak. At 28, she is mature enough to decide what is best for her and yet youthful enough to enjoy life.

What I have achieve so far in my not so roller-coaster ride life? Nothing of important ... yet! So here are a few wishes which I would like to share with you ...

I wish to find my path back to God's kingdom

I wish to spend more time and cherish each moment with my family

I wish to share my joy and sorrow with my best friends and hope that our friendship will last a lifetime

I wish to be able to help more people especially children with my ability

I wish to have more patience and be a better person

I wish for world peace

I wish for wiser world leaders

... and many more but till next time ...

A big Thank You to all of you for your gifts, treats and wishes. May God bless each and every one of you no matter where you are and what you do.

One type of rice feed hundreds type of people

LRT is my major transport from one place to another. I observed a lot of people with different type of personalities from all walks of life. Citing a few examples …

Passengers will take their own sweet time to get off the train during rush hours and those boarding the train will all block the entrance when the train arrives and rush to get in when it's so obvious that you can't get in if they don't come out!

After getting off the train, they will all rush for the elevator when the sign clearly stated 'DISABLED ONLY’. The way I see them rush for the elevator door before it closes can qualify for a 100 meter dash in the athletics event which will makes Malaysia aka the Bolehland to gain few medals at the Olympics. Those disable persons (mostly blind people) will have to use the escalator, as the lift is usually full with perfectly normal human beings.

Next …

The company which runs the LRT systems have to placed all kinds of pictures and signages so that those mentally retarded (MR) people will understand the simple rules of letting the people get off the train before they can board!

First they colored a yellow box on the entrance platform so that those MR people will not stand there but obviously this is no use. Then they installed spotlights to shine on the train entrance platform so that MR people will not block the entrance and queue by the side and again not working. After that, they placed A3 size pictures showing how to queue by the side and not block the entrance and yet those MR people will do exactly the opposite. Finally after wasting all the resources, they decided to hire human beings holding loudspeaker to shout at them for not queuing up!

On the train …

Once they found a seat, these people will treat it as if their house sofa where basically the whole leg is stretch out so that you will need to cross over their leg to find a standing spot or get off the train. I once purposely stepped on this girl out-stretched feet when I was getting off the train and I feel so good to teach her a lesson!

If there are no seats available, these people like to find the nearest pole and slump their whole body against it and don’t give a damn of the rest of the passengers who is holding the pole for balancing.

On handphones …

When they speak on their mobile, they basically shouted on top of their lungs and forced everyone within 3 meters to listen to their conversation (hello, wei)! Or they will play with their ridiculous ringtones and irritates everyone around (that includes me of coz).

The best one so far is a young malay couple who blasted their phones with the muslim prayer rhymes to remind other races that it’s their prayer time. And it lasted for a whole 5 minutes with those brainless cow holding up their handphone midair and look at everybody. How pathetic can that be? For goodness sake, they mean to tell me that the muslim brothers and sister don’t know their prayer time and need someone to remind them?? What do they expect them to do? Kneel down and pray on the darn train! Duh ...

Can you imagine how many people with low mentality around us? Sigh ... no wonder Malaysia is so way behind in development ... with these type of people how to go further? We are lucky that we don't go backwards like Kelantan who practices absurd rules and regulations!

As the Chinese saying goes : Yat Yong Mai Yong Pak Yong Yan ... hmm how true.

Lets be merry

It's the time of the year again ... I love Christmas! I love seeing xmas tree everywhere with lovely deco and lightings. Especially the malls where they like to compete to have the tallest xmas tree with the best deco. It makes me feel happy shopping and i get to choose presents for my beloved friends who celebrates christmas with me. I still have not figure out what to get as I want to make it special every time I give someone a present as those who receive from me are all special person in their own way. But then again, December is the time where I spend lotsa of $$$ bcos of xmas, birthdays, treats and a little something for myself. This time around I need to watch my spending according to my budget don't want to overdo it. Maybe I'll just forgo that little treats for myself and wait till my bonus (usually in Feb) if there's any which i doubt ... but its ok I'm happy walking around malls and enjoy the xmas carols, deco and do some window shoppings.

Enjoy the season everyone and lets be merry!!!
